Lake Manyara National Park is a beautiful park filled with both dry plains and forest. It is known for its tree-climbing lions and the thousands of flamingos that inhabit Lake Manyara. The National Park covers about 330 square kilometers of land with the soda-lake covering up to 200 square kilometers during the rainy season.
Lake Manyara is a great place for bird-watching in addition to being able to see many of the common animals such as lions, giraffes, elephants, zebras, gazelle, impala, monkeys, and more. There is even an area where you can get out of your safari vehicle to stretch with a view of a nearby pond of hippos.
Just like all national parks in Tanzania, the park is beautiful all year-round and a great place to visit when on a safari in Northern Tanzania. The dry season is from June – October.
