Tanzania is Calling

About Africa Top Guide Tours

Africa Top Guide Expeditions is a duly registered and licensed Tanzanian tour and safari company founded in 2014 by a group of friends and who shared the same passion for exploring their local natural treasures. Our founding members come from a variety of different professions including tourism (over 20+ years as a safari tour guide in Tanzania), business management, and non-profit management and are dedicated to sharing Tanzania’s beauty with others.

We aim to provide customers with unique, high-quality tours and safaris that explore both the traditional and non-traditional routes in Tanzania. We want you to have an unforgettable experience and therefore will work closely with you to develop a custom trip that fulfills your dreams.

We are verified partners of SafariBookings and TouristLink.

Innovation

Africa Top Guide Expeditions believes in continually exploring Tanzania and its people. Our passion lies in developing new, specialized tourist routes and safaris along non-traditional routes, where our customers can interact with local populations while visiting some of Tanzania’s untouched scenery.

These tours often take the form of our innovative cultural safarismountain climbing, or additional safari day activities like canoeing and visiting rock paintings. For those interested in traveling off the beaten path, this experience will provide you with a more intimate and local Tanzanian experience.

Social Responsibility

We believe in giving back to the community, which is why we donate 5% of our profits to Thrive Afya Tanzania, an NGO based in Babati. Thrive Afya Tanzania improves access to quality HIV/AIDS, reproductive, and maternal health services through health systems strengthening, life skills development, research, education, and advocacy.

We are proud to be able to contribute to their work to improve the health of local populations in Tanzania.

Babati & Tanzania

Our headquarters are based in Babati, a small but growing town, in Northern Tanzania. Babati is in close proximity to popular tourist attractions as well as lesser-known treasures and untouched scenery. The town provides inspiration for many of our cultural safari routes that we develop. Though we are based in Babati, we can arrange safaris out of various locations.

Tanzania has been awarded one of the best countries to visit for a safari. It is a country blessed with both beautiful scenery and people –a perfect place for an unforgettable experience. Tanzania is one of the most peaceful countries in Africa and known for its welcoming and friendly people. Home to over 120 different ethnic groups, Tanzania is unified through its common national language, Swahili. You will probably learn a few words on your trip!

Testimonials

Michael & Karen

Africa Top Guide Expectations was first-rate and very affordable. They listened to our wants and needs and matched us up perfectly. We spent 5 1/2 days on safari and 2 additional days with a cultural experience that we don't know we could have gotten elsewhere. While we'll remember all the wildlife we saw (lions, cheetahs, leopards, rhinos, crocodiles, hippos...) memories of meeting school headmasters, a rural medical clinic and many other people will live just as large. They took care of every detail and made sure they followed every rule. They are local - 100% in Tanzania - and care deeply about the sustainability of their wider community. I also appreciated that they gave a % of their proceeds to a charity that provides health benefits right back into their local community. We'll use them again.

Africa Top Guide provided a great experience for us in Tanzania. Our private guide made sure we saw all of the animals that we wanted to see - leopards, lions, giraffes, elephants, zebra, gazelles, and more. Our guide pointed out the ugly animals and the dumb animals, as well. We dictated our own schedule and could start our day as early or late as we wanted. Food and lodges were very nice. The Serengeti is the Africa of movies and magazines. Loved the trip.
